SNAP-ON DENTURES

Snap-on dentures are a modern alternative to traditional removable dentures, offering greater comfort, support, and confidence. These dentures are secured using dental implants, allowing them to “snap” into place for a more stable fit while still remaining removable for cleaning and maintenance.

Patients who struggle with loose or uncomfortable dentures often experience significant improvements in daily function and quality of life with implant-supported dentures.

Who Is a Good Candidate for Snap-On Dentures?

Snap-on dentures are an excellent solution for:

  • Patients with missing teeth who want a more stable alternative to traditional dentures.

  • Individuals who have sufficient jawbone density for dental implants.

  • Those looking for an affordable alternative to full-mouth implants.

  • Patients who struggle with loose dentures and frequent slippage.

Note: If you have significant bone loss, you may require bone grafting before implant placement. Our team will evaluate your case and recommend the best approach.

How Do Snap-On Dentures Work?

  1. Initial Consultation: We begin with a comprehensive consultation to evaluate your oral health, smile goals, bone density, and gum health. Our team may use digital X-rays and 3D imaging to determine if you are a good candidate for implant-supported dentures.

  2. Dental Implant Placement: Once you are confirmed as a candidate, the next step is placing the dental implants. Typically, two to four implants are strategically positioned in the jawbone to securely support the denture. The procedure is performed with patient comfort in mind. If needed, bone grafting may be recommended to help strengthen the jawbone and create a stable foundation for the implants.

  3. Healing Period: After implant placement, the jawbone needs time to heal and fuse with the implants through a process called osseointegration. This healing period usually takes 3 to 6 months and is essential for creating strong, stable support for your Snap-On Dentures. During this time, temporary dentures may be worn, and our team will provide instructions to help protect the healing implants, including a soft-food diet when needed.

  4. Denture Attachment: Once the implants have successfully healed and integrated with the bone, we create custom Snap-On Dentures designed to fit comfortably and securely. The denture snaps onto the implants, providing a firm yet removable solution for easier cleaning and maintenance.

  5. Final Adjustments & Follow-Up Care: Our team will make any necessary adjustments to ensure your new dentures fit comfortably, feel stable, and function properly. We will also provide detailed home-care instructions and schedule follow-up visits to monitor your oral health and support long-term success.
